Sport Fighting League Amateur Series Gateway to the Top Event Results

This was an action packed night of fights that showcased some of the best Amateur Fighters in the Midwest area in the Featherweight and Welterweight Divisions. The night started off with a bunch of debut fighters in the Preliminary Bouts that featured the KNOCKOUT OF THE NIGHT from Sammy Garcia over Eric Green with the offical win coming in the 1st round by TKO.

Then in the Feature bouts of the evening that featured the SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT coming from B3 Alpha Dogs Fighter Zac Paine from Clinton County. He pulled off a front Choke over ATT Evolution's fighter Rafael Velasquez.

Then the Main Events- Gateway to the Top Tournament where these guys are fighting for a Pro Contract. This is the first round of the tournament where the winners will meet at teh Finals on March 16th at the Ameristar Casino. These fights had some judging controversy, I dont know what fights one judge was watching with his scoring?? The FIGHT OF THE NIGHT Honors goes to the last fight of the evening which featured Hugh Pulley vs Team Vaghi Adam Meredith. This match showcased some good stand-up along with some good submission atempts but ended in a Unanimous Decision in favor of Hugh Pulley which had some controversy as well. It was a close match and hard to judge. I'd like to give some MAD PROPS to Malcolm Smith who fought in the Tournament on 1days notice and put on a VERY good show and I personally thought won but once again the same old story NEVER leave it in the judges hands and they came back with split decision in favor of Kyle Walker.

In a Catchweight (150lb) fight Sammy Garcia Scored the KO OF THE NIGHT in the 1st Round via TKO against Eric Green

Dustin Beavers and Trevon Crawford fight was scratched..

In the Lightweight Division Terrance Grant won in the 1st Round via RNC against Paul Schultz

Brian Oechsner and Thomas Haney fight was scratched

In the Featherweight Division Nic Yates won in the 1st Round via RNC against Jon Rosener

In a Catchweight Fight Zac Paine Scored the SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT in the 1st Round via Front Choke against Rafael Velasquez

In the Lightweight Division Ben Huskic pulled off a 3rd round Triangle Choke for the win against Ryne Gartner

Clay Mitchell and Keelan Moore Fan Favorite Title Fight was Scratched

In the First match of the Gateway to the Top Featherweight Tournament Scott Ettiling won a Split Decision Win over James Motterhead

In the 2nd match of the Gateway to the Top Featherweight Tournament Travis Draper won an Unanimous Decision win over Cory Hunter

In the 1st match of the Gateway to the Top Welterweight Tournament Kyle Walker won a Controvsial Split Decision over Malcom Smith

In the 2nd match of teh Gateway to the Top Welterweight Tournament Hugh Pulley won a Unanimoius Decision against Adam Meredith
